Tenure-Track Historian of Japan (Premodern & Modern)

Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of Japan, beginning July 1, 2027. The position requires the ability to teach surveys of premodern and modern Japan and a Ph.D.

in history by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach on campus with a 2–2 load, advise students, maintain an active research program, and participate in faculty governance at the department and university levels.
