Title: Temporary- Security Officer (Pool)
Institution: Volunteer State Community College
Job Summary
Successful candidate must be able to operate security related equipment and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
Job Duties
- Patrol campus, report suspected crimes, accidents, or activities of a questionable/suspicious nature.
- Responsible for keeping records and preparing reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, climb, and lift.
- Meet written departmental directives.
- Required to work nights/weekends/holidays or a shift or location that best meets the needs of the department.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather or weather extremes.
- May be confined to motor vehicle for an entire shift.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious disease, bloodborne pathogens, steam, car battery acid, loud noises smoke and fire.
- May be required to be knowledgeable and able to correctly use personal protective equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Unarmed security guard licensure through the Tennessee Department of Insurance and Commerce.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Pay Rate
$20.00 per hour
