Job Description

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

 • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time using Workday Payroll and OSV

 • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; proactively identify and mitigate risks

 • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally

 • Conduct regular payroll audits to validate data accuracy and ensure compliance standards are met

 • Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement

 • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and support configuration updates within Workday Payroll and OSV

 • Partner cross-functionally with HR Operations, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and Workforce Management teams to ensure seamless payroll operations (including reconciliations and payroll funding)

 • Identify and implement process improvements, including leveraging AI and automation to reduce manual tasks

 • Participate in or lead special projects aimed at enhancing payroll processes and operational efficiency

Skills and Requirements

Requirements

 • 1+ year of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing

 • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations

 • Experience with payroll systems; exposure to Workday Payroll preferred

 • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

 • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets (data analysis, reporting)

 • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

 • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex payroll concepts

 • Self-starter mentality with a proactive, ownership-driven approach Pluses

 • Direct experience with Workday Payroll and OSV

 • Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment

 • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting automation)

 • Experience with process improvement, automation, or AI-driven workflow optimization

 • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with HR, Finance, and Legal teams

 • Passion for continuous improvement and operational efficiency
