Temporary Nurse Salary: $200.00 per day Location: TBD Hours: Daily work schedule to be determined Temporary Employee Application Requirements Required documents must be scanned and uploaded in AppliTrack. BCSD strongly encourages all applicants to upload their TB test results. If the applicant has not completed the test, he/she will be required to upload a word document acknowledging that the results will be uploaded as soon as the test is completed. Please Note: A delay in submitting TB test results will postpone the onboarding process. (If selected for a position) A new test is not required if currently a Berkeley County School District employee.

BERKELEY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision assists in ensuring that the district Vision, Mission and Goals are achieved and provides nursing care to ill and injured students according to the policies and procedures of the district and health services during summer camps. Reports to Camp Administrator.

Apply appropriate theory as basis for decision making in nursing practice; Counsel students and their parents to secure needed medical, dental, and other treatments; Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters, as directed by school policies; Listen and react as a Health Counselor to the concerns of students, parents, and faculty; Remain calm during crisis or emergency situations; Consult or care for a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness while at camp; Operate technology effectively; Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPPA Guidelines; Perform other related duties as assigned.

A valid South Carolina License to practice as a Registered Nurse or as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a minimum of three years' experience as a RN or LPN; Must be certified or obtain certification in CPR and First Aid and must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. Knowledge of and have basic skills of general nursing care. Multitask and work well under pressure; Job requires the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others; ability to instruct others in health and safety issues; good written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills. Physical demands are restricted to general office activities requiring movement/lifting up to 35 lbs. Berkeley County School District is a smoke free district. Supervise health room during scheduled camp.
