Houston Methodist is seeking a Telestroke Neurovascular Nocturnist to join its nationally ranked Department of Neurology. The position focuses on acute nocturnal stroke coverage for regional sites, including comprehensive and primary stroke centers.

  • Acute nocturnal services encompass stroke coverage to Houston Methodist regional sites
  • Regional sites include a combination of comprehensive and primary stroke centers with a robust ER presence
  • The Eddy Scurlock Stroke Center is the first DNV-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center in the nation
  • The stroke team provides telestroke services to approximately 3,000 additional patients annually
  • Houston Methodist - The Woodlands, Willowbrook, and Sugar Land sites provide comprehensive stroke care with on-site 24/7 neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Hyperacute stroke management via Telestroke (TNK, ICH, LVO)
  • Neuroimaging diagnostic and virtual stroke evaluation with time-critical care delivery
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals across a system

Compensation

Shift & Schedule

  • Flexible Schedule: 160-180 shifts
  • Hours: 4pm-7am
  • 7a-7a weekends/holidays

Requirements

  • Completed Neurology residency
  • Fellowship training in Vascular Neurology with exposure to Telestroke/Teleneurology
  • Eligible for a Texas medical license or currently hold a Texas medical license in good standing
  • Strong interests in academic missions, including high-quality clinical care, education, and research
  • Candidates must reside in TX, LA, FL, TN or WA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced virtual care skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
