Job Description

Licensure & Experience

License: Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)

Experience: Minimum 1 year of Telemetry RN experience

Certifications Required: BLS

Preferred:

ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Clinical Skill Requirements:-

Telemetry & Cardiac Monitoring:

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• On-unit and remote telemetry monitoring
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Post-MI and post-cardiac angiogram care
• Pre/Post cardiac cath care, TR band management

IV Therapy & Medication Administration:

• Central, peripheral, and PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Blood product administration
• Heparin protocols
• Cardiac drip management (with and without titration)
• IV insulin protocols

Respiratory Support:

• Non-invasive airway management
• External CPAP/BiPAP
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Oxygen delivery devices (face mask, nasal cannula, portable tank)
• Chest tube care (Emerson/Pleur-evac)

Other Requirements:

• Isolation precautions
• Wound care and wound vac usage
