Roundman Job DescriptionThe OSP Crew Groundman is an entry level position on our fiber network construction crew. This position will work on an underground missile and bore crew, installing conduit, pulling conductor, pulling fiber, digging with shovels, repairing wire and operating other heavy equipment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform manual labor using hand tools, primarily shovelsPrecise and safe missile operation; able to adapt tooling to ground conditionsPerform safe and productive execution of workUse vacuum excavation equipment and perform maintenanceCalling in utility locates“Pothole” utilities in missile pathPerform missile operations, check gauges and listen to equipment to assess conditions and to determine the need to adjust or alter equipmentMaintain and service equipment as necessaryResponsible for all restorationAssist Missile Crew Lead with coordination and completion of close-out packagesPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to pass pre-employment screenings required (motor vehicle, drug, and background)Experience with fiber installs preferredMust work safely and follow all OSHA, and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations and company safety rules and proceduresAbility to read design maps is beneficialCan work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to climb ladders and work in confined spaces (e. g., crawl spaces, utility holes)Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 70 poundsAbility to pass a background checkAbility to communicate effectivelyEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentValid Class Driver License or State Issued ID required1 year of relevant experience preferred, or an equivalent of education and experienceRestoration experience in asphalt and concrete preferredExperience operating vibratory plows beneficialExperience operating mini-excavators beneficialWorking ConditionsMay be required to work long and unpredictable hours including weekendsWorking outdoors in all types of weather conditionsBend/squat/kneel/stand frequentlyExposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levelsHyper Networks Inc.
