We are seeking an immediate, "road-ready" Telecommunications Mechanic I to support urgent government contracting projects. We require a reliable and experienced technician who excels in pulling cable, fiber optic termination, and technical troubleshooting. This role requires an individual who can arrive on-site, follow line drawings, and execute high-quality installations with minimal supervision.

Job Summary
We are seeking an immediate, "road-ready" Telecommunications Mechanic I to support urgent government contracting projects. We require a reliable and experienced technician who excels in pulling cable, fiber optic termination, and technical troubleshooting. This role requires an individual who can arrive on-site, follow line drawings, and execute high-quality installations with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Cabling & Fiber: Expertly pull CAT5e, CAT6, and single/multi-strand fiber through new or partially filled EMT conduit. Perform end-to-end testing of every fiber run.
- Termination: Properly terminate CAT5e/6 (RJ45, Keystone jack, 110/66 punch down) and fiber connectors (LC/SC/ST).
- Security & Access Control: Install low-voltage cable for surveillance cameras and electronic security systems, including proper drilling for security contacts.
- Hardware Installation: Perform "Rack and Stack" duties, mounting switches, servers, and panels according to specific cabling schemes.
- Field Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with Dispatch, the NOC, and the Operations Manager.
- Experience: Minimum (3) years of hands-on experience in the Telecommunications/low-voltage field.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled with hand/power tools (drills, saws) and testing equipment.
- Physical: Ability to work from ladders/scaffolding and in confined spaces.
- Travel: Mandatory national travel readiness (75%+). Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Reliability: A proven track record of showing up on time and working independently.
- Security & Site Access: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass a rigorous federal background investigation and meet all eligibility requirements to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) or equivalent credentials for unescorted access to military installations and secure government facilities.
- Compliance: Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record, as required for operating vehicles on federal property and base environments.
