Technology Technician ensures the daily operation and availability of instructional and administrative technology. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software, managing school IT inventory, and providing hands-on technical support to teachers, staff, and students.
Core Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk Support: Respond to IT support tickets, diagnosing and resolving issues with PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, iPads, and peripherals.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Install, repair, upgrade, and maintain computers, and printers
  • Software Deployment: Assist in creating, managing, and deploying software images and updates across school networks.
  • Network & Account Management: Support basic network operations (Wi-Fi, LAN), assist with user account creation (passwords and permissions), and maintain data security.
  • Inventory Management: Track, catalog, and manage hardware and software inventory, ensuring equipment is properly secured.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; specialized IT certifications or an associate's degree in a related field are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in an educational or customer-facing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS), productivity suites (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), and basic networking concepts.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the patience to assist users who have varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Physical & Environmental Demands: Ability to lift equipment (often up to 30-50 pounds), bend, kneel, and work in various spaces (classrooms, data closets, offices).
