Technology ManagerThe Technology Manager position designs technology systems for residential and commercial buildings. Management of support staff including engineers, designers, technicians, and interns. Management of project schedules and staffing requirements. Management of clients to retain existing clients. Project management from conceptual design phase through construction. Attend meetings with clients and take diligent notes. Attend job site walks to observe existing conditions and construction progress. Basis of design writing. Specification writing.
Understanding of Technology Engineering fundamentals. Working knowledge of the following codes & standards: BICSI, California Electrical Code, California Building Code, ADA Standards for Accessible Design- Code of Regulations (ADA). Ability to read construction documents. Ability to design structured cabling systems including the following: Outside Plant Cabling (OSP), Inside Plant Cabling (ISP), Fiber optic riser diagrams, Copper riser diagrams, Telecom room layouts, Rack elevations, Cable tray and pathway designs, Grounding & bonding, Wireless access points, Cellular distributed antenna systems. Ability to design security systems including the following: CCTV, Intrusion detection, Access control. Ability to design audio visual systems including the following: Paging, Public address, Nurse call, CATV, Area of refuge systems, Sound masking. Stamp and sign drawings using RCDD certification. Provide responses to Requests for Information (RFI's). Provide Submittal reviews.
Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives. Ability to climb ladders and survey construction sites. And all other tasks assigned.Competencies: AutoCAD Revit Design Master Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word & Excel Internet BrowserThe work is performed under supervision of the Principals and Directors. Supervisory Responsibility Supervise Engineers, Designers, and Technicians. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently sitting at a desk, working on a keyboard or mouse to design drawings in a computer. Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities. Incumbent must be able to function in an office and field environment in work of a sedentary to moderately active nature, and perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: Utilize vision, hearing and speech Utilize manual and finger dexterity Walk on smooth and/or uneven surfaces Climb, ladders or steep surfaces Stand upright and/or forward flexing Twist, turn, bend and reach Lift and/or carry 50 pounds maximum Wear personal protective equipment Vision sufficient to read printed documents and computer screens. Incumbent must be able to function in an office and field environment. Incumbents may travel from site to site Typical hours worked are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours. Developing knowledge of the culture is of utmost importance for a successful and enjoyable working relationship with fellow employees. May be required to travel within a 50-mile radius, and occasionally further when projects are outside of this area.Required Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent 10 years of experience. 2. RCDD Certification. 3. Licensed to drive in CA.
