Join MetLife in Cary, NC for a hybrid Technology Data Analyst role focused on modernizing reinsurance data and enabling analytics through the FAIRR Data Hub and related initiatives. You’ll collaborate across Corporate Functions Data to help turn complex business needs into production-grade data and modern reporting capabilities using analytics, SQL , Big Data , and cloud technologies .
This full-time position is designed for analysts who enjoy bridging business process understanding with technical delivery. You will work with teams across Reinsurance, Actuarial, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Data & Analytics to define requirements, ensure data quality and governance, and support scalable solution implementation.
What you’ll do
- Partner with business and functional analysts to create functional and technical requirements for data and analytics solutions.
- Support Reinsurance Modernization and FAIRR Data Hub work through data analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Analyze end-to-end reinsurance processes and produce business requirements , data mappings , process flows, and source-to-target technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Data Architecture, Engineering, Governance, Modeling, Quality, and Data Science teams to deliver successful solutions.
- Translate business context into detailed data flow diagrams and facilitate clear understanding between business and technical stakeholders.
- Support onboarding of treaty , premium , claims , recoverables , and financial data into the FAIRR Data Hub, with emphasis on quality, governance, and traceability .
- Validate and test solutions to confirm alignment with business requirements and expected outcomes.
- Lead complex data analysis efforts, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and provide recommendations on data solutions and implementation approaches.
- Mentor junior analysts by reviewing deliverables and promoting best practices in data analysis and solutioning.
- Contribute to AI-enabled analytics and reporting across the reinsurance value chain.
Skills and experience
- 5–7+ years of relevant experience in data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science , information technology , or equivalent education.
- Strong communication and structured problem-solving skills, including documenting and explaining complex system flows to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience engaging and partnering with stakeholders.
- Technical proficiency in data profiling , data validation , and principles for data storage and retrieval across Azure, document databases, and relational databases.
- Understanding of data warehouses , data marts , data lakes , and Medallion architecture .
- Domain-based design, solutioning, and estimation experience.
