Technology and Metrology Engineering Program Manager - DisplayApple is where you go to do your life's best work. HWTE is responsible for designing and developing methodologies and measurement solutions for calibration and validation of key technologies across Apple's products. For new technologies, we focus on metrology development and design characterization. The team takes on a multitude of display, imaging & sensing technologies across all product lines. We are looking for an expert, technical leader with experience in Display hardware to join the team championing calibration and test strategy through engagement in early stages of technology development.
If you have broad experience across key hardware technologies, a strong product/customer focus, experience guiding sophisticated programs through the development process, and the ability to distill tradeoffs down to key factors and drive critical technology and product decisions we'd love to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Alignment & Roadmap Influence: Work proactively with key HWTE technology stakeholders in Europe, US and Asia to review and understand technology/module roadmaps. Ensure strategic alignment between new technology investments and the development of appropriate, scalable, and forward-looking metrology solutions.Stakeholder Partnership: Establish, continuously maintain, and nurture robust functional partnerships with key stakeholders across Apple (Engineering, Operations, Product and Research) - across timezones and continents Engineering,, Product, and other cross-functional teams globally.Technical Program Execution: Oversee and drive successful execution of metrology development and algorithm pipelines from concept through to mass production for complex technologies. Proactively identify and drive resolution of technical risks, working with engineering leads to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plansProgram & Meeting Ownership: Own end-to-end project delivery, ensuring accurate completion while maintaining high quality standards through meticulous testing and validation processes. Own and drive critical meetings, technical reviews, and program updates with senior leaders and cross-functional partners, ensuring clear communication, documented actions, and decisive outcomes. Establish and drive quarterly roadmap & prioritization reviews with HWTE leadership team.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Champion best practices in program management, risk management, and cross-functional communication to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes across globally distributed teams.Communication Excellence: Serve as a central point of communication for program status, risks, and decisions, tailoring communication appropriately for diverse audiences, including executive leadership.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in EE, CE or related field5 years relevant industry experience in display technologiesKnowledge of display and optical technology fundamentalsPreferred QualificationsBackground in display, optical design and optical-sensing technologiesUnderstanding of hardware/software architecture and interoperability of complex systemsKnowledge of statistical data analysis, design, process and test FMEAHigh volume consumer electronics calibration, testing and manufacturing experienceTechnical leadership and/or project management experience with excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to bring focus and transparency to complex situations while monitoring the bigger picture and the needs of a rapid development cyclePay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $311,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
