Job Summary:
Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Routinely works in CT and X-Ray specialties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
- Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
- Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
- Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
- Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Provides basic bedside care and support in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit under the supervision of the RN or physician, anticipating and responding to patient needs.
- Assists with patient stabilization and life support measures in collaboration with the care team, following appropriate admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Monitors for changes in patient condition, report concerns, and initiates appropriate actions within scope
- Collects laboratory samples and performs lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates ability to perform laboratory quality controls and assessments and routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function according to laboratory policy and procedure.
- Prepares patient meals in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Supports patient registration functions as needed.
- Supports a best-in-class patient experience by utilizing downtime as productively as possible.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Specifications:
Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.
Education:
Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
Special Skills:
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.
Licensure:
ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.
