Techno-Functional Workday Integration EngineerThe Techno-Functional Workday Integration Engineer serves as a critical bridge between HR business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. This role owns end-to-end solution design and delivery across Workday HCM and Integrations, combining deep functional knowledge with hands-on technical expertise to build scalable, compliant, and efficient enterprise solutions within a regulated financial services environment.Pay Rate: $65/hrLocation: Jersey City, NJ (185 Hudson St)Work Mode: Onsite 3 days/weekInterview Process: 2 Rounds (1 Video, 1 Onsite)Role Focus: While titled "Architect," the current priority is Integration Development. Expect roughly 75% technical integration work and 25% functional configuration/support.Team Dynamics: Joining a systems-based team of approximately 10 Workday developers.Scope: This is a "jump right in" role.
Candidates must be able to handle enhancement projects and lead full lifecycle implementations or tenant refreshes immediately.Technical Requirements:Integration Development: 5+ years of experience with Workday Studio (Required), EIB, and Cloud Connectors.APIs & Data: Strong proficiency in Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP), XML, XSLT transformations, and BIRT reporting.Functional HCM: 5+ years of experience in Workday HCM configuration (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, or Payroll) and Security.Payroll: Specific experience with Workday Payroll integrations is highly preferred.SDLC: Proven experience leading the integration lifecycle: requirements gathering, mapping, building, testing, and post-production support.Key Responsibilities:Integration Delivery: Design and support inbound/outbound integrations using Studio and EIB; troubleshoot failures and optimize performance for vendor integrations (Payroll, Benefits, ServiceNow).Functional Configuration: Partner with HR teams to translate business requirements into Workday configurations across multiple modules.Security & Governance: Implement secure authentication protocols (SFTP, OAuth, certificates) and maintain governance frameworks for access and audit readiness.Stakeholder Management: Lead discovery sessions, translate business requirement documents (BRDs) into technical user stories, and provide roadmap updates to leadership.Release Management: Conduct impact assessments for Workday releases and coordinate regression testing.
