Technical Publications SpecialistWe are seeking a Senior Technical Publications Specialist to support the creation, maintenance, and modernization of technical documentation for complex engineering products. This role will play a key part in updating and managing a large library of legacy documentation created in Adobe FrameMaker, while supporting our transition to a Component Content Management System (CCMS), specifically Quanos Schema ST4. Also supporting implementation of AI features in user manuals and technical documentation.Key Responsibilities:Modify, update, and maintain existing documentation created in Adobe FrameMaker (unstructured)Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across product manuals and technical documentsSupport migration of legacy content into Schema ST4 and assist in adopting structured authoring practicesCollaborate with engineering, product, and service teams to gather and validate technical informationApply content reuse strategies and improve documentation efficiency during CCMS (component content management system) transitionMaintain version control and documentation standards across multiple product linesEvaluate and recommend tools for the technical publications departmentThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with both legacy documentation systems and modern content management tools, and who wants to contribute to the evolution of technical publications in a high-tech manufacturing environment.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in professional writing, Technical Field or EngineeringProven experience with Adobe FrameMaker (unstructured authoring)Background in technical documentation for engineering, manufacturing, or industrial productsStrong ability to interpret complex technical information and translate it into clear documentationExperience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, product management)Excellent attention to detail, organization, and document control practicesExperience with Schema ST4 or other CCMS platforms (e.g., MadCap IXIA, Paligo, Tridion Docs, Vasont)Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with structured authoring concepts (DITA/XML), even if not previously used in productionExperience with content migration, modular documentation, or reuse strategiesHigh value for understanding manufacturing processes, machinery, and technical specifications.Knowledge of localization/translation workflows is a plusExperience Level Senior-level / Professional (5+ years' experience):Produces well-structured technical papers, white papers, or manualsAdapts tone and depth for different audiences (developers, users, executives)Conducts research and interviews SMEs independentlyFamiliar with style guides and documentation standardsUses advanced tools (version control, documentation platforms)Key Skills:Technical writing and editingDocument formatting and template managementContent organization and reuseVersion control and change managementAbility to learn new documentation systems and workflows quickly
