IT Documentation SpecialistThis Role is to create an update IT policy, systems documentation and other necessary documentation, user manuals, and other technical content that converts complex technical information to a non-technical language. This includes both user-facing documentation, such as technical manuals and tutorials, and internal IT documentation including IT inventory.Prepare, revise and update instruction manuals on a regular basisDisseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience including management and external usersHave technical accuracy in writing user documentationCreate IT documentation after a thorough collaboration with subject matter experts and technical staffHelp other writers in creating and managing existing documentationAbility to take existing and potential content and improve it for management audienceConvert complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiencesCreate product manuals with screenshots and tutorialsWrite documentation for internal teams such as developers and programmersCommunicate complex ideas in a concise mannerSkills & RequirementsBachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines.6+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation (Systems, Infrastructure, Ops manual, Change Management, IT Inventory)Understand and explain complex technical conceptsStrong research and analytical skillsAbility to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlinesExcellent technical writing skillsExcellent verbal communication skillsSolid grip on documentation publishing software such as Zendesk Guide, Camtasia, SnagIt, and other softwareGood working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, Project Plan or Google DocsDetail-oriented and can work independentlyThe following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate.Experience with regulatory compliance documentation such as NERC CIPExperience reviewing documentation against audit recommendations.
