TECHNICAL WRITER (ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE)

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a detail-oriented Technical Writer in Pasadena, TX. In this high-impact and collaborative role, you will be responsible for building out crucial compliance documentation and helping shape processes as our client actively pursues ISO 14001 certification.

In a Technical Writer (Environmental) job you’ll be responsible for:

• Writing, reviewing, and formatting site environmental procedures using established templates.
• Partnering directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather complex information and translate it into clear, standardized technical documentation.
• Organizing, updating, and maintaining centralized document structures and procedure libraries.
• Utilizing advanced Excel functions (data reconciliation, complex formulas, pivot tables) to audit, organize, and track compliance data.
• Assisting with the development and logistics of site-wide regulatory compliance training.
• Supporting internal audits and reviews of standards, policies, and operational procedures.

What you’ll need:

• Strong background in technical writing, procedure writing, and document control/management.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and departments.
• Prior experience in the environmental sector is a plus.

• Monday-Friday, 8A-5P
• $25-$30/hr
• Contract Role, 6 month estimated project
