Technical Writer PositionScope of Work: Contractor shall provide the temporary services of a Technical Writer to perform writing and document management in support of Work Methods, Training, and Emergency Preparedness groups at PPL Electric Utilities offices located at the Technical Development and Improvement (TD&I) Walbert Conference Center (1639 Church Road, Allentown, PA 18104). The Technical Writer will be expected to work up to 8 hours/day, sometime between the core hours of 0700 and 1630. Travel is expected to be very minimal, and if travel should be required, it will be local day trips only.
Vehicle mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rates for any travel from the Walbert Conference Center for work. No overnight travel is required. The Technical Write shall:Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suiteBe proficient in writing concise/technical documents for the intended audienceWorking with teams on document requirements and information gatheringWriting easy to use/understand guidelines and procedures utilizing pre-approved templatesDevelop/update/maintain select policies and proceduresDevelop/update/maintain Distribution Department Instructions (DDI)Develop/update/maintain Training MaterialsOther similar technical documents as otherwise directed by TD&I ManagementThe Technical Writer will be provided a desk (work area), computer, and standard office supplies while working for PPL EU.
The term of work could be for up to two years, but may be cancelled at any time.
