We strive to create an exceptional environment for our employees, shaped by fair practices and excellent opportunities for career growth and a working culture that embraces diversity.The BARS Technical Team Manager is responsible for providing operational and technical supervision for the operational and maintenance functions of the Soap Production area.Job Duties:Responsible for supervision of entire shift including hourlies.Execute daily production plan for a given shift.Ensure good product quality is maintained across the linesReport wastages and yield on daily/batch wise basis.Provide daily support for the operation in troubleshooting operational issues. Lead team members through root cause and equipment failure analyses. Identify and execute corrective actions, temporary solutions, and permanent solutionsDrive innovations in process and work system improvementsCommunicate shift results daily in verbal and written formatsTrain employees on all aspects of safety (OSHA required training, etc.)Develop skill acquisition and assessment plans for line lead mechanicsCoordinate with maintenance teams to enable execution of Preventive Maintenance.Lead team development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement around our key business metrics (safety, quality, reliability and cost)Ensure implementation of 5S in all areas of BARSOther duties as assigned by managementEducation Requirements:Bachelor's of Science Degree in a technical field of study (or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum Work Requirements:Meet the legal minimum age requirementAuthorized to work in the United States3+ years of production/maintenance supervisory/management experience overseeing 5 or more production/maintenance individuals in a manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of the basics of mechanical systems and electrical systems.Intermediate knowledge of high speed equipment timing, filling equipment, multi-packers, and case packersShift flexibility to accommodate the needs of the businessRelevant experience in team development and trainingRespond to urgent or emergency situations outside of normal working hours as needed.Ability to work overtime as neededAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong planning and organizing skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to facilitate teams in problem solving and troubleshooting efforts from routine equipment failure.Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)Working knowledge of the principles of 5sPreferred Qualifications:Advanced knowledge of high speed equipment timing, filling equipment, multi-packers, and case packersIntermediate technical skills in general machining processes (material selection, fabrication) and scale systemsExperience in facilitation and team buildingExperience working in a union labor environmentPhysical Requirements:Employee must be able to work in a manufacturing plant environmentDaily responsibilities may require working on elevated surfaces, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lift up to 50 pounds, crawling under equipment, wearing fall protection and required PPEStanding/walking for extended periods of timeSitting for periods of time working in front of a computer screen.At VVF, our people are what make the difference.
