Technical Support Scientist I

Our client, a leader in the scientific and technical industry, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Technical Support Scientist I to join their team. As a Technical Support Scientist I, you will be part of the Technical Product Support team supporting oligonucleotide manufacturing, characterization, and validation activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Technical Support Scientist I

Location: Des Plaines, IL (onsite)

Pay Range: $29/hr

What's the Job?

  • Provide technical support for diagnostic products, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and design experiments; perform testing on Analytical Chemistry instruments; analyze data and summarize results.
  • Perform basic laboratory activities, including hands-on wet lab work supporting product testing and development, which may involve oligonucleotide- or small-molecule-based assays.
  • Support oligonucleotide manufacturing, characterization, and validation activities within the Quality System framework.
  • Work cross-functionally with scientists and engineers to investigate and resolve technical documentation and product-related issues.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or related discipline).
  • Preferred experience with Organic or Analytical Chemistry testing.
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations is desirable.
  • Experience with oligonucleotide chemistry, small-molecule chemistry, or related wet lab techniques is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of organic chemistry principles and prior experience working in a wet lab environment.
