We provide customers with products and value-added solutions within Fluid Power, Fluid Process, Fluid Conveyance, General Industrial Components, and Industrial Repair.We are seeking a knowledgeable and solutions-oriented Sectional Valve Specialist to support our growing fluid power business. In this role, you will partner closely with Account Managers and customers to design and deliver hydraulic sectional valve solutions that solve real-world challenges and drive new business.This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that blends technical expertise, customer interaction, and problem-solving.Essential FunctionsDesign hydraulic sectional valve solutions, including schematics, bills of materials, and quotes to support Account ManagersPartner with Account Managers on customer opportunities, including participating in joint sales calls to help win new businessReview customer specifications and application requirements to recommend effective hydraulic solutionsProvide technical support on product selection, configuration, and system designAssist with prototype valve builds to validate designs and ensure production readinessTroubleshoot hydraulic systems and diagnose performance issuesPrepare technical documentation, proposals, and quotationsCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and operations to ensure accurate and timely deliverySupport training for internal teams and customers as neededStay current on product lines, manufacturer updates, and industry trendsExperience, Education and SkillsCertification, associate degree or bachelor's degree in engineering, Fluid Power Technology, or a related field is preferred3+ years of experience with hydraulic systems and/or fluid power componentsStrong understanding of sectional valves and hydraulic circuit designAbility to read and interpret schematics and technical drawingsExperience working with OEMs or within a distribution environment is a plusExperience supporting sales teams or working in a customer-facing technical role is a plusManufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., Parker, Danfoss, etc.) is a plusHands-on troubleshooting or field service experience is a plusProficient in general computer use and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skillsValid driver's license / some travel may be requiredWhy SunSource?A collaborative environment where your expertise directly impacts customer success and business growthHands-on involvement in projects from design through production readinessExposure to diverse applications and leading fluid power technologiesOngoing development through training and manufacturer partnershipsA stable, growth-oriented organization with strong industry reputationCompetitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for advancementWe are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D.
