Technical Service RepresentativeThe Technical Service Representative serves as the key technical interface between Flint Group and its customers within the wide web flexographic and gravure printing segments. This role specializes in water-based and solvent-based inks and coatings used in flexible packaging applications. The position focuses on technical support, troubleshooting, product performance optimization, and customer engagement.

The Technical Service Representative works closely with customers, sales teams, R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory groups to ensure successful product implementation, strong customer relationships, and consistent technical excellence. This role is field-based and requires extensive regional travel across Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support to customers utilizing wide web flexographic and gravure printing systems.Assist customers with water-based and solvent-based ink systems and coating applications.Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned regional customers.Conduct on-site troubleshooting and problem resolution related to ink performance, print quality, and press operations.Analyze print defects, color variation, and substrate compatibility issues.Optimize ink performance, viscosity, drying systems, and press settings.Coordinate and execute press trials, product testing, and product introductions at customer facilities.Conduct technical audits and performance evaluations to improve print quality and productivity.Support new product launches and technical training initiatives.Partner with R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and sales teams to deliver customized solutions.Provide field insights to support product development and process improvements.Maintain technical service reports, documentation, and issue logs.Identify opportunities for process improvement and product optimization.Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, including VOC regulations and solvent handling protocols.Support compliance with product stewardship and safety standards.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree preferred in: Chemistry, Printing Technology, Engineering, Related Technical Field2–5+ years of experience in technical service or manufacturing support rolesExperience supporting printing, packaging, or ink manufacturing environmentsExperience working with flexographic or gravure printing processesKnowledge of water-based and solvent-based inks and coatingsUnderstanding of pressroom operations and printing processesExperience with: ink/substrate interactions, drying systems, surface treatment processes, print troubleshooting, color matchingStrong customer-facing technical communicationAbility to analyze and resolve technical issuesExperience working with cross-functional teamsStrong problem-solving and documentation skillsPreferred SkillsExperience with color management systems (X-Rite or similar)Knowledge of lamination, coating, and converting processesUnderstanding of VOC regulations and safety complianceExperience supporting flexible packaging printing operationsTravel RequirementUp to 70% regional travelCandidates must reside in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, or Nebraska
