Vaco is hiring a Senior IT Project Manager & Portfolio Manager for a long term opportunity in Cincinnati, OH.

Overview

Seeking a senior-level IT Program/Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of enterprise technology initiatives within a highly regulated public-sector environment. This individual will be responsible for technology roadmaps, governance, stakeholder management, and delivery across multiple concurrent projects spanning infrastructure, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of technology programs and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned to organizational priorities.
• Lead cross-functional efforts involving infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders.
• Drive planning, prioritization, governance, risk management, and execution.
• Partner with leadership to ensure technology investments align with operational goals.
• Coordinate vendors, project teams, and interagency stakeholders.
• Report on program outcomes, business value, risks, and progress to leadership.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of IT Project or Program Management experience.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent technology initiatives.
• Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, or Microsoft technologies.
• Experience creating roadmaps, managing portfolios, and driving strategic planning.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in regulated environments with security and compliance requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Government, public sector, healthcare, financial services, or insurance experience.
• Exposure to CJIS, HIPAA, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience supporting infrastructure modernization or cybersecurity programs.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments and enterprise technology governance.

Additional Notes:

• This is not a traditional PM focused solely on schedules and status reporting.
• We are looking for those who have owned technology portfolios, roadmaps, governance, and strategic initiatives.
• Candidates from healthcare, banking, insurance, or other highly regulated environments can be excellent fits even without direct government experience.
• Security/compliance experience is more important than direct CJIS experience.
