Remote Contract Management & Operations

Technical Project Manager (Aviation) – Hybrid opportunity (must be local to DC/VA/MD). Public Trust clearance required – only U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

High – Immediate Hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions with the federal workforce, Subject Matter Experts, and gather and articulate requirements during working sessions twice a week.
  • Conduct working sessions with the focus groups to develop and maintain program requirements.
  • Capture User Stories, requirements, maintain requirement tractability matrix, and develop test cases, coordinate testing and user experiences for the project using Jira.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, project schedule, resource plan, roadmap and deliverables required on the program.
  • Meet with the development team to shape/prioritize development efforts, then communicate with SMEs, stakeholders, users, and developers.
  • Meet with the developers and develop weekly reports to be submitted to the federal program manager.
  • Develop security assessment package to be submitted for the production environment.
  • Collaborate on and present white papers, PowerPoint briefs, and facilitate meetings.
  • Establish and maintain the role of a trusted liaison by building relationships with government and contractor personnel to ensure effective coordination of all project efforts.
  • Take complex, multidisciplinary technical requirements from original concept through final implementation and releases.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, quality standards and review project deliverables.
  • Meet with customers and do research on the application to recreate bugs and recommend solutions and take action to solve problems.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives using AI and ML.
  • Special projects such as corporate proposals, technical write‑ups, etc., as needed.
  • Provide support and expertise in assigned domain.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

Required Skills

  • System requirement gathering, using Jira, ability to do mockup for demos, give brief and demos to the customer, and coordinate with the development team on implementation.
  • Should have significant technical reach, hands‑on work and coding using PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Must have technical ability to manage users, understand requirements and translate it for the developers.
  • Must have adequate client engagement skills – meetings, action items, demonstrations, briefings, etc.
  • Can collaborate to write short, semi‑technical briefs and white papers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with key stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, and the ability to manage a technical team.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively towards deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and flexibility – multitask adaptability.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant project management experience with a federal customer.
  • Federal experience is required – preferred with DOT, FAA, or ED.
  • Experience in managing or leading federal IT projects preferred.
  • Prior agile experience in conducting requirements analysis.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, client‑focused environments.
  • Experience supporting federal programs preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution.

Work Location and Schedule

  • McLean, VA (Hybrid/Remote)
  • Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5:30 PM EST
  • Work schedules and arrangements may be adjusted based on client and program needs.

Employment Type

  • Full‑Time, Salaried (Exempt)

Customer / Contract

  • Federal Agency

Compensation

  • $120,000–$170,000 annually.

Clearance Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check.
  • Employment is subject to verification of eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Some travel may be required.
