Technical Program Manager – Space Operations (TS/SCI Required)

Salary: $200,000-$250,000

Location: Onsite in Grand Forks, ND (current or open to relocate)

About the Role

MapLarge is looking for a Technical Program Manager to be our on-the-ground lead in Grand Forks, ND. You will work alongside the operators who run satellite constellations and ground systems for the national security space mission.

You will be the bridge between those operators and MapLarge engineering. That means understanding how operators task satellites and use the data that comes back, and turning those needs into requirements, demos and delivered capability on our geospatial analytics platform.

This is a customer-embedded role for someone who knows the space mission, can hold their own in a technical discussion and wants to help build a program from the ground up. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. Beyond running the program, you will shape solution architecture, guide engineering decisions and bring modern, AI-assisted delivery practices to a classified mission program.

About MapLarge

Since 2009, MapLarge’s rapidly growing software platform has enabled federal governments and Fortune 1000 enterprises to develop, scale, and deploy mission-critical applications. Trusted by the world's most sophisticated organizations, our enterprise platform for geospatial analytics and visualization automates decision intelligence and offers a distinct decision advantage. We build cutting-edge products for large enterprises and government agencies that appreciate innovation. If you enjoy working with talented teammates to solve complex challenges, we'd love for you to join us.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with operators and ground operations teams in Grand Forks
  • Manage program milestones, risks and deliverables on site
  • Translate operator needs into clear requirements for MapLarge engineering
  • Shape solution architecture and system design for mission applications on the MapLarge platform, working directly with our engineers and architects
  • Coordinate classified (high-side) integration with engineering and DevOps
  • Lead demos, pilots and proofs of concept for operators and leadership
  • Support RFI, RFP and proposal responses
  • Coordinate with commercial data partners and prime contractors
  • Identify new mission opportunities for business development

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Local to Grand Forks, ND or willing to relocate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field is required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and no visa sponsorship required.
  • 7+ years managing technical programs that delivered complex software, at least 5 of them in DoD or the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Technical depth: a hands-on software engineering or architecture background, ideally with C# / .NET, JavaScript / TypeScript, React, Azure or AWS, and CI/CD. You can drive architecture discussions, solution design and technical decisions with customers and engineers.
  • Space mission experience: direct experience with satellite operations, ground systems or space programs. This can be operational (Space Force, Air Force space operations) or program/contractor side.
  • Customer-facing: comfortable working directly with operators, program offices and senior leaders, and managing expectations on high-value programs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with proliferated low-Earth-orbit (LEO) constellations, satellite tasking and collection management, or ground segment operations.
  • Familiarity with sensor and intelligence data types such as radar, radio frequency (RF), moving target indicator (MTI) and imagery.
  • Experience with tactical data links or getting space-based data to warfighters.
  • Experience with real-time data systems, distributed computing or high-performance visualization.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, responsible AI guardrails or spec-driven engineering.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines (web, backend, cloud, DevOps, data).
  • Experience delivering software in classified cloud environments.
  • Proposal and capture experience: leading or drafting proposal sections, alone or as part of a larger team.
  • Existing relationships within the space operations community.

Cultural Fit

While we hire all kinds of people and invent roles to fit them, there are four key traits we require of every team member that really define our team.

  • Fun to Work With - Life is short and work should be fun.

  • Adaptable - We hire team members for specific roles, but we expect adaptability as the business needs change and evolve.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and 401K
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Top-notch health care
  • Family friendly
  • 100% remote flexibility
  • Cutting-edge tech with an A+ team solving complex, meaningful problems
  • Collaborative, intelligent, positive, and supportive team culture
