JD: Role: Technical Lead - Networking & Wireless
Role Overview
Cognizant is seeking an experienced Technical Lead - Networking & Wireless to lead and deliver complex network and wireless programs in a Service Provider environment. This role requires strong hands on technical knowledge, close coordination with offshore delivery teams, and direct interaction with onsite client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end to end delivery of network and wireless programs for large enterprise/service provider clients.
- Coordinate execution with offshore engineering, validation, and vendor teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for onsite client stakeholders.
- Own project planning, execution tracking, risk management, and dependency tracking.
- Drive cross functional alignment across firmware, network, cloud, QA, and operations teams.
- Translate client requirements into clear technical and execution plans.
- Ensure release readiness, quality, and on time delivery of milestones.
Required Technical Skills (Hands on Experience Mandatory)
- BNG / SP Edge architecture
- Ciena Benu vBNG (virtual, running on VMware / UCS infrastructure)
- RADIUS / AAA load, scaling, and subscriber management
- Provisioning Systems using REST APIs
- Wireless Controllers and Access Points
- Ruckus AP
- Cisco
- OctoScope
- Cisco ASR 9000
- Network switching and routing fundamentals
Required Experience & Skills
- 10–12 years of experience in networking, wireless, or broadband delivery.
- Proven experience in Service Provider / ISP environments.
- Strong system level understanding of subscriber networks and wireless infrastructure.
- Experience in client facing, onsite technical project management roles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate and drive execution across global/offshore teams.
- Strong ownership mindset with focus on delivery and quality.
