Technical Lead

Role Description The Technical Lead role at Abbey Residential is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for overseeing the technical operations that support property management systems, building infrastructure technologies, and internal business applications. The Technical Lead will coordinate and guide a small technical team, prioritize and delegate tasks, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope. Daily activities include troubleshooting system and network issues, managing vendor relationships, implementing upgrades, and maintaining documentation and standards. The role partners closely with operations, leasing, and maintenance teams to align technology solutions with business needs and provide reliable support to onsite community staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or teams in real estate, property management, or a related industry.
• Solid background in IT infrastructure and systems administration, such as networks, servers, property management platforms, and cloud-based tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Proficiency in documenting technical processes, creating standards, and communicating complex information in clear, accessible language.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including operations, leasing, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in a lead or senior technical role supporting multi-site operations is highly beneficial.
