Technical DesignerAs Technical Designer, you will execute technical product specifications for multiple complex programs within Kohl's Proprietary Brands.What You'll DoDevelop accurate technical specifications aligning with Kohl's brand ID, minimum construction standards, tolerances and grading requirementsCollaborate with Product Integrity to ensure products meet performance testing protocols and requirementsConduct benchmarking and remain current on market trends and competition, providing recommendations based on insightsApply industry knowledge to resolve fit and production issues, fostering supplier and peer relationshipsDemonstrate proficiency in grading and consistency management, aligning with Technical Design Leadership and suppliers to implement changesPrepare for the Seasonal Sample Fit Benchmark by reviewing samples and presenting hypotheses for product improvementsGuide new hires on Kohl's processes and proceduresCommunicate technical specifications and collaborate with Vendors via PLM during product developmentCommunicate sample corrections clearly to Vendors through written summaries, sketches and photosSupport vendor onboarding and Certified Technical Designer trainingAdditional tasks may be assignedWhat Skills You Have5+ years of experience in Technical Design, Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Manufacturing or related industriesExperience with Browzwear and other 3D design technologies to create accurate virtual samples, conduct fit analysis, and reduce physical sampling throughout the product development process.Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skillsEffective verbal and written communication abilitiesBachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing or a related field of expertiseExperience using PLM and Adobe Illustrator or similar specification packages and sketching programsKnowledge of textiles, construction and pattern-making/gradingThis role is based at our New York Design Office.
