Technical Commissioning Specialist- Robotics (Freelance)

The Freelance Technical Commissioning Specialist, Robotics, is responsible for commissioning Ross products and integrating them into broadcast systems at customer locations across North America. This customer-facing role is responsible for managing client expectations, implementing software and hardware configurations, completing project documentation, delivering end-user training, and ensuring systems perform to specifications.
Working closely with the Technical Services team, the successful candidate will help deliver the Ross Superior Customer Experience through technical excellence, professionalism, and proactive problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform onsite software installations and upgrades.
- Commission Ross Robotics systems and, when required, additional Ross product lines.
- Deliver customer operational and technical training.
- Complete all required project documentation, including daily reports.
- Provide customer technical support and service.
- Troubleshoot system and technical issues at customer facilities.
- Support implementation teams as required.
- Maintain and develop technical expertise to ensure a high-quality commissioning experience.
- Assist in developing commissioning methods, techniques, and training materials for use by other team members.
- Maintain advanced knowledge and skills in assigned product lines.
- Provide customer feedback to management and product teams when appropriate.
- Support teammates by sharing technical expertise and product knowledge.
- Independently resolve onsite technical issues while maintaining communication with all stakeholders, including Sales, Technical Services, and Project Management.
- Demonstrate professional customer communication and service etiquette.
- Analyze, document, and resolve technical problems using sound judgment and established processes, escalating unusual issues when necessary.
- Coordinate with customers before project deployment and clearly communicate project scope, deliverables, and expectations.
- Obtain certification in one or more Ross Robotics products and demonstrate proven field experience.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Handle technical support calls and follow established documentation procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge
- Technical diploma or equivalent education with knowledge of broadcast systems.
- Additional technical education, certifications, or computer-related coursework is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong customer service and customer-facing communication abilities.
- Willingness to become a subject matter expert in Ross Video products.
- Additional language skills are considered an asset.
- Project management experience is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.
