Technical Asset ManagerHeelstone Renewable Energy is a utility-scale solar, wind, and storage developer headquartered in Durham, NC, with expertise in developing, originating, financing, constructing, and operating solar photovoltaic, wind, and storage projects. Heelstone's strategy includes greenfield development, co-development, and acquisitions of later-stage projects. Heelstone has developed and achieved commercial operation on over 80 solar projects with an aggregate generating capacity of approximately 1.2 GW.

Heelstone has partnered with Qualitas Energy to fund its development platform as it continues to grow into a world-class Independent Power Producer.Position SummaryThe Technical Asset Manager will be responsible for reporting requirements, managing third-party O&M relationships, and landowner requests/needs for operational utility-scale solar energy projects across the U.S. While this is a full-time position located in Durham, North Carolina, there will be approximately 20% travel.ResponsibilitiesOnboarding of new projects (gathering all record design documents, commissioning data review, performance modeling, etc.)Overseeing project-level compliance to ensure that all filings and reports are completed accurately and on timeSupport negotiation of service provider agreements and amendmentsThird Party O&M Provider management (work order approval, invoice processing, service report review, maintenance schedule governance)Monitor PV and storage plant operational performance by working closely with the operations teamDevelop KPIs related to plant performance, perform root cause analysis when underperformance is identified, and make recommendations to management on methods for optimization.Support creation and distribution of performance, operations, and financial reporting & analyticsWarranty claim administrationPeriodic site visits to operational and under-construction solar and BESS projectsHigh-priority site outage and site emergency response coordination with O&M providers – occasional needs outside of traditional core hoursOther duties as assignedSkills and Personal QualitiesHighly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointExceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detailSelf-starter that operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environmentStrong sense of accountability, taking ownership of projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively.Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, prioritize efforts, and work effectively under pressure.Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skillsStrong organization and management skillsAbility to drive a motor vehicleEducation/Professional ExperienceBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Engineering related degree is a plus.2-4 years of experience in utility-scale solar with a focus on operations or portfolio/asset management.Experience with performance modeling of solar plantsKnowledge of NERC/FERC compliance is a plusTrack record of managing contractors and consultantsTotal Rewards PackageWe have an office-based schedule of 4 days in the office (M-Th) and one work-from-home day.
