Harbinger: Familiar Form, Revolutionary Foundation.We are seeking a Technical Accounting Manager, SEC Reporting to help build the foundation for external reporting, technical accounting, and financial transparency.

This role will work closely with executive leadership, external auditors, and legal counsel to ensure Harbinger meets the highest standards of financial reporting and compliance.What You'll DoAssist in drafting Form S-1, including financial statements, MD&A, and disclosuresBuild scalable SEC reporting processes, calendars, and controlsPartner with legal, investor relations, and external advisorsOwn External Financial ReportingPrepare and review SEC filings, including:Form 10-KForm 10-Q8-KEarnings releases and investor materialsEnsure financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirementsCoordinate the preparation of footnotes, technical accounting memos, and disclosure checklistsPartner with Auditors & AdvisorsServe as a primary contact for external auditors and technical accounting advisorsSupport quarterly reviews and annual auditsAssist with complex accounting areas and disclosure mattersTechnical Accounting & Policy DevelopmentResearch and document technical accounting issuesDraft accounting memos related to new or complex transactionsAssist in implementing accounting standards and SEC reporting policiesStrengthen Internal ControlsSupport development of SOX-ready processes and documentationAssist with establishing internal controls over financial reportingCollaborate with accounting and finance teams to improve reporting workflowsWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications5–8+ years of experience in accounting or financial reportingBig Four public accounting experience strongly preferredExperience with SEC reporting and public company filingsStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirementsExperience preparing or reviewing 10-K and 10-Q filingsHighly PreferredExperience supporting or participating in an IPO processExperience with S-1 preparationExperience working with high-growth companies or public company readinessExperience with financial reporting systemsWhat Makes You Successful in This RoleDetail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and transparencyComfortable working in a fast-moving, startup environmentAbility to translate complex accounting topics into clear disclosuresStrong cross-functional communication with legal, finance, and executive leadershipOwnership mentality and ability to build processes from scratchKey Benefits & PerksComprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) – 100% employee covered Early-stage Stock Options Robust Retirement Savings (401k, HSA, FSA) Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Parental Leave Annual Vacation Bonus Wellness & Fertility Benefits Cell Phone Stipend Complimentary Meals & Stocked KitchensCalifornia Pay Range$140,000 - $180,000 USD
