Technical Accounting ManagerWe are seeking a CPA-qualified Technical Accounting Lead to support financial accuracy, GAAP compliance, and audit readiness across a growing, multi-entity organization. This role serves as the primary owner of complex accounting matters, partnering closely with the Controller and Operational Accounting Manager to ensure the integrity, consistency, and defensibility of reported financial results. The position plays a critical role in strengthening internal controls, interpreting accounting guidance, and aligning financial reporting with both regulatory requirements and operational realities.As an employee-owned company, we value ownership, accountability, and the impact each role has on our shared success.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident working cross-functionally, with the ability to translate technical accounting concepts into practical applications across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLead evaluation and documentation of accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactionsResearch and apply GAAP across revenue recognition, intercompany activity, consolidations, and contract analysisPrepare technical accounting memos and position papers for management and auditorsReview monthly close outputs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to GAAP, including WIP schedules and revenue recognitionIdentify and resolve discrepancies, unusual variances, or inconsistencies in financial reportingEstablish and maintain accounting policies and standardized practicesServe as primary liaison for external audit requests and internal audit initiativesEnsure audit readiness throughout the year (not just at year-end)Support international filings (VAT, transfer pricing, etc.) in coordination with external advisorsStrengthen internal controls and documentation across accounting processesPartner with Operational Accounting Manager to improve close timelines and qualityDevelop and maintain SOPs for key accounting functionsAdvise leadership on accounting implications of operational and strategic decisionsPartner with finance and operations teams to ensure proper data flow into financial reportingQualificationsRequiredCPA required5–8+ years (public accounting strongly preferred)Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research, interpret, and document technical accounting positionsExperience applying ASC 606, including over-time revenue recognition concepts (percentage-of-completion, cost-to-cost input methods, or similar frameworks)Familiarity with project-based or service-oriented business models, including an understanding of concepts such as contract accounting, job costing, and revenue recognition over timeAbility to operate independently while also serving as a reviewer, mentor, and cross-functional partnerPreferredExperience in multi-entity environments, including intercompany transactions and consolidations (international exposure a plus)Strong organizational and communication skillsWhat Success Looks Like in This RoleReduce reliance on the Controller for technical accounting decisions Complex accounting questions, judgments, and audit-related matters are confidently owned and resolved.Establish audit-ready financials throughout the year Accounting positions are clearly documented, supportable under GAAP, and proactively maintained, minimizing year-end audit disruption.Improve the quality and consistency of the monthly close Financial results are accurate, well-supported, and delivered with fewer post-close adjustments or rework.Strengthen accounting policies, controls, and documentation Key processes are standardized, documented, and consistently applied across entities and transactions.Serve as a trusted partner for complex and non-routine transactions Business decisions are supported by clear guidance on accounting implications before issues arise.Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and technical accounting matters Audit requests are handled efficiently, and external stakeholders engage directly with this role on technical topics.Why Join UsJoin an employee-owned company where your work directly contributes to shared successYour experience and attention to detail are valued and relied uponWe offer a collaborative environment built on accountability, communication, and long-term ownershipWork EnvironmentOffice-based with potential for hybrid work arrangementsMay require travel to other office locations around our footprint (on occasion)CompensationCommensurate with experience.Includes benefit package (medical, 401k, PTO, etc.)
