Technical Accounting Analyst JobThis position will report to the Manager, External Reporting in the Controller's Department and will be directly responsible for accounting areas such as statement of cash flows preparation, derivatives and pensions as well as assisting with the preparation of our periodic SEC filings.What's in it for you:Build deep expertise in complex accounting areasWork closely with external auditors and cross-functional finance teamsExpand visibility within Corporate Accounting and Finance leadershipDevelop skills that support long-term growth toward senior accounting rolesContribute directly to high-impact, enterprise-level reporting processesWhat You'll Do:Prepare the monthly consolidated statement of cash flows.Assist with the process for the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K; including selected footnote preparation.Record necessary accounting entries and develops associated budgets and forecasts for defined benefit pension, post-retirement plan and post-employment plans.Assists with the accounting for incentive compensation plansRecord interest rate derivative accounting entries.Perform annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment tests.Serve as a key contact for external auditor.Manage process to create and file financial statements for employee benefit plans.File annual SEC Form SD documenting the Company's conflict minerals process.Participate in other projects as neededWhat will make you successful:Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations, combined with the ability to research complex accounting issues.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and manage well through tight deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills required; must be capable of interacting comfortably & respectfully with all personnel levels.Excellent written & oral communication skills.Knowledge of general ledger systems (SAP preferred)Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.1-2 years of accounting or finance experiencePublic accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.CPA PreferredWhy should you join Armstrong World Industries?Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is an Americas leader in the design and manufacture of innovative interior and exterior architectural applications including ceilings, specialty walls and exterior metal solutions.
