HVAC & Building Analytics
Charlotte, North Carolina | Hybrid
Understand how buildings should work? Help customers work out why they aren’t.
We’re recruiting for a building analytics technology business that helps commercial building teams improve HVAC performance, reduce energy waste, and solve operational problems.
This hands-on engineering role combines building data, technical investigation, and direct collaboration with facilities teams. You’ll look beyond fault detection, understand what’s happening, and help customers decide what to do next.
The role at a glance
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, with hybrid working
- Experience: Typically 2–5 years in HVAC, BAS, commissioning, energy, or building performance
- Focus: Technical diagnosis, building optimization, and customer delivery
- Travel: Client site visits as required
What you’ll do
Working alongside Customer Success Managers, you’ll help customers turn building analytics into practical improvements across commercial portfolios.
- Investigate building performance: Use live and historical data to diagnose HVAC/BAS faults, energy inefficiencies, equipment issues and comfort problems.
- Turn findings into action: Explain what needs attention, recommend practical next steps, and work with engineering, facilities, and operations teams to support resolution.
- Improve diagnostic workflows: Help configure and prioritize fault detection and diagnostics, contributing to HVAC optimization strategies.
- Support onboarding: Work with the integrations team on commissioning, data validation and platform configuration.
- Influence the product: Bring customer insights and real building challenges back to Product and Engineering.
What you’ll bring
You’ll need practical knowledge of HVAC and building systems, analytical judgment and the ability to explain technical findings clearly. Your background could be in controls, commissioning, building services, energy engineering or building performance. You should have:
- Around 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- A solid understanding of how HVAC and BAS operate in real buildings.
- Experience working with customers or other technical stakeholders.
- A relevant engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and willingness to travel.
- Experience with building analytics, FDD tools, energy analysis or performance reporting would be useful, but isn’t essential.
Why consider it?
You’ll apply your engineering knowledge across complex commercial portfolios, work directly with the people operating those buildings, and see how your recommendations translate into action.
There’s also scope to contribute to an evolving product and growing US team, with onboarding and ongoing development support.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
