Radiologic Technologist I

The Radiologic Technologist I administers diagnostic radiographic examinations, ensuring image quality while prioritizing patient safety. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to assist patients effectively throughout imaging procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Position patients accurately to produce clear diagnostic radiographs and select appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
  • Operate imaging equipment efficiently while minimizing radiation exposure through proper beam restriction and collimation.
  • Perform portable x-ray examinations in various settings such as patient rooms and emergency departments.
  • Identify and properly label films with patient details, including side markers, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Develop and process exposed films using available processing techniques to produce diagnostic images.
  • Assist physicians in preparing and administering radiopaque contrast media as needed and maintain detailed records of procedures conducted.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete an accredited Radiologic Technology program with clinical experience.
  • Possess a valid New Jersey State License.
  • Meet the requirements and pass the National Registry examination (ARRT certification preferred).
  • Demonstrate physical ability to lift at least 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours daily.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills to accommodate diverse patient populations, including those with special needs.
