Job Summary:
Seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with at least 2 years of experience to support a Level I Trauma Center. The role involves sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments, primarily for neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYNE cases.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap of surgical instruments following strict protocols.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure all instruments are prepared and functional for procedures.
- Maintain sterilization equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to infection control policies and document processing activities accurately.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including potential assignments at sister facilities.
- Report any equipment issues or supply shortages to appropriate personnel.
- Hold a national certification such as CBSPD and/or HSPA.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments.
- Have recent experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, or GYNE cases preferred.
- Be able to obtain and hold a South Carolina RN license or applicable certification.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
- Gain experience working at a prestigious Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital.
