Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. The role involves operating specialized equipment and ensuring patient safety throughout the imaging process.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate Siemens scanners to acquire diagnostic images.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to radiation safety protocols, including wearing radiation badges.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to optimize imaging quality and patient care.
  • Follow department procedures, including charting with Epic and ensuring compliance with certifications.
  • Assist with on-call duties and weekend imaging appointments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Hold ARRT(N), NMTCB(N), ARRT(CT), or NMTCB(CT) certification.
  • Possess a valid South Carolina license in Nuclear Medicine or Radiology, or be able to complete the walk-through process.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nuclear medicine imaging experience.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Experience operating Siemens PET/CT scanners is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and accommodate block scheduling if approved.
