Mammography Technician
The Mammography Technician is responsible for performing routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures with a focus on image quality and patient safety. This role requires competency in imaging techniques and adherence to department protocols to support accurate diagnoses.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in mammography positioning, compression, and technique factors.
- Ensure all radiographic images are correctly labeled according to departmental SOPs.
- Evaluate images for technical acceptability and transmit them to PACS promptly.
- Complete all studies accurately within the IDX system and record patient tracking information diligently.
- Maintain high standards of safety, image quality, and procedural accuracy throughout all screenings.
Qualifications:
- Possess a New York State License in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Demonstrate effective and efficient work performance.
- Maintain MQSA requirements in compliance with industry standards.
- Possess strong attention to detail and patient care skills.
- Show proficiency in radiographic techniques specific to mammography.
