Job Description
Job Summary:
The Echo Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and function, supporting physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions. The role involves operating specialized equipment, recording accurate data, and providing quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive echocardiography procedures including 2-D, M-Mode, spectral Doppler, color flow, transesophageal, stress echocardiography, and related tests.
  • Prepare and process patients for diagnostic procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Record and document procedure findings accurately in patients' records and inform physicians of critical results promptly.
  • Maintain and disinfect echocardiography equipment in accordance with safety and infection control policies.
  • Assist with clerical duties, supply management, patient transportation, and related administrative tasks.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and staff training activities.
Qualifications:
  • Possess an associate or bachelor's degree in Vascular/Echocardiography or related Allied Health field from an accredited institution.
  • Hold valid Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registration or ARDMS certification as a cardiac sonographer, with CPR certification.
  • Have 1-2 years of experience in echocardiography, including 2-D echo, spectral, color Doppler, transesophageal, and stress testing.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, patients, and families.
  • Possess knowledge of clinical interventions and equipment essential for cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
