Job Summary:
The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily CT and Mammography, ensuring high-quality images to assist in accurate diagnosis. They are responsible for maintaining safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and delivering optimal patient care throughout each examination.
Responsibilities:
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment, including CT scanners and Mammography systems, to produce clear, diagnostic-quality images.
- Verify physician orders and accurately document procedures within the electronic medical records system.
- Ensure all imaging includes correct demographic data, proper positioning, and optimal image density and contrast.
- Perform daily quality assurance (QA) on CT and Mammography equipment, recording data to meet regulatory standards.
- Assess patients to determine appropriate technique, taking necessary precautions to minimize radiation exposure, especially for pregnant women.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment, adhering to infection control and patient safety policies.
- Hold an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology; additional certifications preferred.
- Possess ARRT certification; must obtain within one year if not already certified.
- Massachusetts Radiologic Technology License required.
- CPR certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages advantageous.
- Display proficiency in basic computer systems and PACS operation.
