Job Summary:
The Radiology Technologist specializing in Cath Lab/EP procedures is responsible for performing advanced imaging and interventional procedures within outpatient and inpatient settings. The role demands technical expertise, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures in the Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) suite, ensuring high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning, and maintaining sterile technique.
- Operate complex imaging equipment such as angiography, stent deployment systems, and other specialized devices during procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and condition throughout interventions, responding promptly to any changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, including contrast usage, instrument logs, and patient records in the EMR system.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety during all procedures.
- Current ARRT certification in radiologic technology, with in-hand credential required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Cath Lab or EP lab performing angiograms, stents, angioplasty, and other specialized procedures.
- Valid OH license (pending acceptable) or MI license in hand.
- Certified in BLS and ACLS; additional certifications such as IABP and Impella training are preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts, EKGs, and managing complex interventional procedures.
- Ability to work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with flexibility to float between units as needed.
