Cardiovascular/Interventional Laboratory Technician
The Cardiovascular/Interventional Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the cath lab. The technician supports physicians during complex interventional procedures and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterizations, angiographies, and peripheral angioplasty procedures.
- Operate and monitor advanced imaging and diagnostic equipment used in interventional cardiology.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields and procedural instruments in compliance with safety standards.
- Document procedural details accurately in the electronic medical records system.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient patient care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Hold at least 2 years of cath lab experience, demonstrating hands-on procedural competency.
- Possess current BLS (AHA), RCIS, and ACLS (AHA) certifications.
- Exhibit proficiency in operating cath lab equipment and emergency response procedures.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Maintain active and valid clinical credentials as required by state and facility policies.
