Implement an effective educational program for the assigned grade level and subject area(s) using the required course of study, appropriate resources and materials, and research-based instructional practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences.
- Participants in the TEAMS program will be employed on an 189-day contract.
- Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Exhibits positive human relations skills.
- Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress.
- Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
- Must hold a valid Alabama professional educator certificate or alternate certificate in secondary science.
- Must teach grades 6-12 with the appropriate certificate endorsements.
- Currently hold or obtain an Advanced Credential from the National Institute for STEM Education or a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification in Science.
- Must meet all requirements established by the Teacher Excellence and Accountability for Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) Program, including teaching approved TEAMS courses, maintaining an advanced credential, and completing 30 hours of highly qualified professional development per school year.
