The Land Development Team Lead will serve as both a strategic client manager and an internal team leader, responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of land development projects from concept through construction. This individual will lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, ensuring high-quality work, efficient project execution, and strong client relationships. The Team Lead will also play a key role in business development and operational leadership within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate land development engineering projects of varying size and complexity
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients while maintaining strong relationships and anticipating client needs
  • Supervise and mentor project managers, engineers, EITs, and designers
  • Develop and oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
  • Guide technical design direction and ensure compliance with agency regulations and company standards
  • Review and approve engineering plans, calculations, and reports; sign and seal as appropriate
  • Coordinate with agencies, utility districts, contractors, and subconsultants
  • Support business development efforts and strategic planning initiatives for the land development group
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on accountability and growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas
  • Preferably 12+ years of experience in land development engineering and project management
  • Minimum 7+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong client management and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of local development regulations and agency requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and technical writing ability

Software

  • ArcGIS – Preferred
  • H&H modeling software (HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, StormCAD) – Preferred
