CTE Auto Technology Teacher 6th PeriodLocation: Fitzgerald High SchoolWork Year: School YearSalary: Per FEA Contract; 10% teaching during prep hourQualifications:Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required: IX or TE endorsement with Interim Occupational Certificate OR Eligible for Annual Occupational Authorization certificate -Achieved with 4000 hours work experience in the Automotive Industry.Standard Occupational Certificate or Professional Education Certificate in CIP Auto Technician (ASE Certified) .Or, if no Occupational Certificate, the ability to qualify for Annual Career Authorization(ACA) which requires a minimum of two years or 4,000 hours (within the last 10 years) of recent and relevant paid work experience in the Automotive industry.Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification or ability to obtain certification in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Electrical (A6), and Maintenance and Light Repair (G1).Experience in high school classroom instructionAbility to manage time and self-directedHigh level of confidentiality and professionalismExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with at risk studentsPatience to work with diverse populations and language barriersValid Michigan Teaching CertificationAbility to manage time and work individuallyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience working with diverse populations and language barriersEnthusiastic, Energetic, Positive and ProfessionalExperience with online learning- Edgenuity preferredDuties and Responsibilities:Responsible for planning, assessment, and instructionImplement curriculum according to the Michigan Common Core State Standards and district adopted curriculumUpdate CIP self-review and fulfill all State of Michigan CTE requirements annuallyUse relevant technology to support and differentiate instructionInterpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instructionParticipate in professional development and implement best practiceEncourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategiesProvide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activitiesCollaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student achievement in the content areas
