Teaching Hospitalist

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Teaching Hospitalist Physician to join their team at an 867-bed academic medical center in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you will provide comprehensive inpatient care while mentoring and teaching University of Connecticut residents and medical students. This position offers a collaborative multidisciplinary environment and the opportunity to help shape the next generation of physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients with a broad range of medical conditions.
• Round with and supervise residents while providing clinical teaching and mentorship.
• Participate in resident education, case discussions and bedside teaching.
• Collaborate with specialists, advanced practice providers, nurses and other members of the care team.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Participate in the academic and educational activities of the Department of Medicine.
• Help create a supportive learning environment for residents and students.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Experience caring for acutely ill hospitalized adult patients
• Strong interest in resident and medical student education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
