Teaching Assistant, Probationary Waverly School
The Eastchester School District is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the probationary position of teaching assistant at the Waverly School. The role involves assisting a special education teacher to provide academic, social, and/or communication skills to students or groups of students who have learning, emotional, or physical disabilities in a K/1 self-contained classroom. Duties are performed under the direction of a special education teacher who is responsible for the design and implementation of educational programs and services.

- NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*
Employment Terms: 10-month, probationary position
Base Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers' Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule.
*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law 305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
