Teaching Assistant – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Mood Disorders

Position in the PsyD Program, Psychology, reporting to Patty Lev, Consortium Program Coordinator. Employment status from March 25, 2024 through June 21, 2024 (max of 20 hours per week).

General Description:

Teaching Assistant duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping with grading
  • Help moderating the classroom environment and making online learning more engaging
  • Facilitating group discussions
  • Managing Canvas
  • Holding office hours
  • Helping with creating/presenting didactics and guest lectures if interested
  • Making course materials accessible
  • Support proctoring exams
  • Creating assignments
  • Presenting

Specific Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Teaching Assistant Orientation training is mandatory but it only needs to be completed once during the time of the teaching assistant.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student at PAU in good standing.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced understanding of the subject matter.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Able to create a comfortable learning environment for students.
  • A strong work ethic, dependable, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through in a timely manner. Ability to apply sound research techniques and logical critical analysis.
