Position Title:

Teaching Assistant (Full Year - Long Term Substitute)

Anticipated Employment Date:

September 9, 2026 to June 30, 2027

Anticipated Work Location/Hours:

Kaegebein Elementary, 8:35 AM to 3:35 PM

Salary:

$29,471 per GITA contract

Duties:

Teaching Assistants provide small and large group instruction, remediation, and support.

Teaching Assistants provide input into the planning process, maintenance of student records, and student progress.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. NYS certification: Teaching Assistant or Childhood Education 1-6 and/or SWD 1-6

2. Ability to use Instructional Technology to improve student performance and address professional responsibilities.

3. Collaborate with colleagues 4. Ability to be flexible and organized

Qualifications Desired:

1. Literacy and/or Special Education certifications preferred

2. Ability to cooperate and collaborate with grade level team, special area teachers and parents

3. Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or graduate level

4. Strong written and oral communication skills

5. Strong work ethic; ability to differentiate instruction to support all learners

6. Experience with iReady math, UFLI, Magnetic Reading and differentiation

7. Ability to use data driven instruction to improve student achievement

8. Experience working with students with disabilities
