Teacher for Math
Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. The facility is looking for a teacher who will be responsible for the educational leadership of students in the classroom. Provides a classroom environment conducive to learning. Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student. Reviews student records in order to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student's abilities and needs. Teacher for Math (grades 6-12). Certified in ESE (Exceptional Student Education) or willing to become certified within 6 months of hire. The hospital/homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients. A 4:1 student to staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists and a full medical team. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a hospital/homebound site.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university.
- Certification: Florida Educators certificate required by the Florida Department of Education. Math (grades 6-12) preferred.
- Knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies.
- Ability to work with multi-level/multi-grade students in small class environment.
- Computer literacy.
- Commitment to facility mission and policies.
- Must adhere to all facility and school board policies.
- Pass a Level 2 background check and pre-employment drug screen.
